This CPD course is for the Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs), Lawyers, Paralegals, law graduates and students.


Description:


The participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the various criteria for inadmissibility under Canadian immigration law. They will learn to assess and address cases involving security risks, criminality, health grounds, financial concerns, misrepresentation, and non-compliance. The session will enhance their decision-making skills in ambiguous cases and offer insights into legal remedies and appeals processes for overcoming inadmissibility, equipping them with practical knowledge to better assist their clients.

    • Overview of the legal framework governing inadmissibility

    • Categories of inadmissibility: Security, Human or International Rights Violations, Serious Criminality, Health Grounds, Financial Reasons, Misrepresentation, Non-compliance with IRPA/IRPR, Inadmissible Family Member

  • Legal Definitions and Interpretations

    • Detailed discussion on each category with legal definitions and interpretations

Evaluating Inadmissibility Cases (30 minutes)

  • Examination of real-life cases and scenarios
